| Connection Method | The module has a removable front connector that interfaces with a terminal block unit (TBU), which is wired to the field devices. |
| Compatible Systems | • Yokogawa ProSafe-RS (Safety Instrumented System)
• Yokogawa CENTUM VP (Distributed Control System) |
| Mounting | Installed in a dedicated N-IO Node, RIO cabinet, or other compatible Yokogawa rack assemblies. |
| Status Indicators | Per Channel: LED indicates activity or error status.
Module-Wide: LEDs for module status (RUN, ERR, etc.) and power. |
| Internal Consumption | Powered from the system backplane. |
Typical Application
This module is used to interface with a variety of analog field instruments:
Field Devices: Pressure transmitters, temperature transmitters, level transmitters, flow meters, analog valves with position feedback, and any other device with a 4-20mA output.
Wiring: Each 2-wire or 4-wire transmitter is connected to an individual channel on the module.
Operation: The module precisely measures the current loop (4-20 mA) for each channel, converts it to a digital value, and transmits it to the controller.
System Integration: The controller uses these values for PID control, process monitoring, alarm generation, and safety interlocking.
